Position: Senior Financial Analyst/Expert, FAA

Location: Washington D.C.; Remote

Salary: $160K-190K+

Years of Relevant Experience 

The position requires 20+ years of financial analysis and experience. FAA experience is required.

Security Requirements

Must be a US citizen or a legal resident for three of the past five years. Public Trust cannot be granted without meeting the residency requirement.

Must meet eligibility requirements for a US Public Trust security clearance (moderate risk), including a soft credit check and criminal background check. Please refer to the criteria listed in 5 CFR 731.202 to understand the Public Trust suitability requirements.

Job Summary 

This position will provide team management and expert financial analysis to the FAA.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are normal for this position.  The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from this position if the work is similar, related, and/or a logical assignment for this position.  Other duties may be required and assigned.

The Senior Financial Expert is responsible for analyzing and managing financial data, including budgets, preparing financial reports, conducting financial analysis, and providing recommendations regarding financial strategies and decision-making in support of the FAA programs and portfolios. The individual’s activities include but are not limited to: 

  • Provide expert financial analysis and reporting in support of the FAA’s budgeting, planning and implementation efforts.
  • Manage and participate in teams performing financial and program analysis in support of FAA programs.
  • Provide technical support for programs regarding FAA financial systems (Delphi, Prism, etc.)
  • Provide research and data analysis to support process improvement initiatives for program controls and execution.
  • Assist the PM in preparing budget and financial plans for the program; including justification for operations & maintenance (OPS) and facilities & equipment (F&E) funding.
  • Assist in interpreting budget and financial guidance received in order to prepare project plans from this guidance.
  • Develop tools and models to support financial reporting utilizing databases and data visualization products.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FAA financial data sources, database structures, and proficiency in accessing and utilizing data to support reporting and decision making.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the business and financial impacts of the budget process and procurement approaches.
  • Lead and manage teams as required to support project needs
  • Monitor and control expenditures and deliverables for successful task order performance.
  • Provide training and mentoring as needed in support of financial reporting and financial understanding for project teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering, Math, Operations Research, Finance or Accounting.  

Master’s degree a plus.

Skills Required

·       High level of proficiency with FAA financial systems.

·       High level of proficiency with database and data visualization tools.

·       High level of proficiency with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project and other MS Office Products.

·       Strong analytical background and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills Desired

·       Knowledge of FAA NAS systems, investment analysis, solution development & implementation

·       Experience managing client relationships
